Project summary
Migrant entrepreneurs (MEs) in North-West Europe show high levels of entrepreneurial activity, yet their full potential remains underutilised. Fragmented support systems, inconsistent policies, limited access to finance, and structural barriers continue to hinder their integration—especially in rural areas and regions affected by brain drain. Despite past initiatives, systemic challenges persist, limiting MEs’ contributions to innovation, employment, and inclusive growth.
CONNECT addresses these issues by moving beyond individual support towards a structural, ecosystem-based approach. It brings together policy makers, intermediaries, NGOs, and economic actors to co-develop inclusive support systems. Through a Joint Strategy, an innovative Train-the-Trainer framework, and the practical “ConnectAction” plan, the project strengthens institutional capacity and fosters transnational cooperation.
Across eight regions in North-West Europe, it empowers stakeholders to better support MEs and positions them as key drivers of sustainable and inclusive regional development.
Through CONNECT, we are bringing people and institutions together to better understand and respond to the realities migrant entrepreneurs face. By aligning regional infrastructures with their needs, we are not only strengthening support systems but also fostering more inclusive labour markets, resilient economies, and stronger social cohesion.
